Tech Farm brings the belonging of the countryside (farm) into the connected city (tech). We create spaces that catalyse a more conscious society.
Our mission is to provide physical space and a coliving framework, empowering self-managed communities of global citizens to create safe harbours to live, work and grow. We plan to build a global village of over 100 coliving houses, providing our members with a feeling of belonging and home across the world.
"Homes where we can connect with others and be more true to ourselves".
This was the shared vision for the two founders of Tech Farm, Lisa Renander and Fredrik Forss, when they met in 2015. Lisa had been running Scandinavias first coliving house Hus24 for four years and Fredrik had been running innovative real estate and construction ventures. They both knew that the real estate industry where about to face a new paradigm, manifesting the needs of the millennial generation. “Free from possessions, global playground, authentic connections, life on-demand and self-realisation”, says Lisa. Coliving was their solution for the future.
Hus24 was founded 2011, inspired by coliving houses in Silicon Valley. When Lisa was an Entrepreneur in Residence at Stanford University, she stayed at Blackbox Mansion, a startup house where 20 entrepreneurs lived together. Being among like-minded people to share both work and life was for her like heaven compared to the antisocial apartment life back home. Together with the American investor, Rob Meadows (founder of Originate) she decided to start something similar in Stockholm. Short after they found the perfect house, a 5-story townhouse in Old town aged back to the 14th century.
Since the opening more than 60 entrepreneurs from five different continents and hundreds of guests have lived in the house. "Each week we receive requests from people from all over the world asking to come and live in the house", says Fredrik.
With Lisa's experience from coliving in combination with Fredrik's experience from real-estate made it a natural step to build more houses to meet this demand. Tech Farms mission is to launch 100 coliving properties in startup cities across the globe. We want to disrupt housing and develop a new international standard based on the principles of the sharing economy. With small private sleeping units in combination with shared areas and digital solutions. Tech Farm aim to examine that we can use 60% less space per citizen and still increase life quality and well-being. In 2016 we received 10 MSEK in grant from the Swedish government to develop our solution in collaboration with 10 partners and researchers.

Behind a green door in a townhouse aged back to the 14th century, talents from all over the world are gathered to manifest the future of life and work. They live together, work with the latest technology and they are co-creating a more conscious society.
This house, Hus24, has hosted 60 residents over a period of five years ago and was probably the first coliving house in Europe. Tech Farm, the team behind, have now launched a bigger house with 50 spots also in Stockholms city centre. And a house in Berlin, a retreat house in Thailand and on its way up, a 11 storey house to host 250 residents. Coliving has boomed the last years.
Common in New York got 150 applications the first week for a house with 16 beds, WeLive (US) are projecting 34 000 members in their coliving houses by 2018. The trend is obvious, the generation that is often called millennials wants a lifestyle with less possessions, global connectivity and more authenticity.
At Tech Farm we believe that coliving is about more than just sharing spaces and hosting parties. We strive to help each other become more conscious and true to ourselves. This is how we create a genuine experience of home and family.
